What shape face do I have?
Everyone’s face is individual and understanding your features is a great place to start.
Oval Face Shape
Take a look at your face. Do you have balanced proportions, with your face narrowing at the jaw down from your temples? You may have an Oval Face Shape. You are likely to suit most styles of frames. Here are our favourites:
David Beckham: DB 7113
Wide Frames: Frames that are as wide or even a bit wider than the broadest part of your face can emphasise your natural symmetry.
David Beckham: DB 1133
Geometric Shapes: Feeling funky? Add some angles to contrast the curves of an oval face shape. Try on some hexagonal or octagonal frames.
Round Face Shape
If your face is generally balanced in terms of width and height, with soft curves and a lack of angular features, you may have a round face shape. Glasses are a perfect opportunity to compliment your features and introduce some definition. Rectangular frames: Add some structure with a rectangular pair of glasses. The right pair can help your face appear longer and slimmer.
Kite Eyewear: Broadway
Cat-Eye frames: Embrace a touch of retro glamour and try on a pair of cat-eye frames. The upswept corners help draw attention to the eyes and cheekbones, lifting your face.
Square Face Shape
Do you have a strong jawline? Broad brow and forehead? Angular features? It sounds like you have a square face shape. Here are some recommended frames:
Round frames: Balance the angles of your face with a classic pair of round or oval glasses.
Geometric frames with soft edges: Embrace your natural angles, whilst introducing some softness. Try a pair of geometric frames with rounded corners.
Heart Shaped Face
Think of the shape of a love heart: broader at the top, swooping down into a sharper point.
If you have a wider forehead with a narrower chin, you may have a heart-shaped face.
Carrera: CARRERA 311
Bottom-heavy frames: If you would like to balance the proportions of a heart-shaped face, try some glasses that are wider at the bottom than the top. For example: Aviator frames.
Kate Spade: HANA
Cat-eye frames: If you would prefer to embrace your natural face shape, try
complimenting it with a pair of cat-eye glasses. The corners at the top will accentuate the top half of your face.
Diamond Shaped Face
Got killer cheekbones? A narrower forehead and chin? Here are some suggestions of how to make your natural diamond-shaped features shine bright with the right pair of glasses:
GIGI Studios: Wright
Brow line frames: Opt for glasses that have a strong upper frame, embracing your eyes and balancing your cheekbones.
David Beckham: DB 7116
Rimless frames: Let the angles of your face do the talking. Show off those cheekbones with a pair of rimless or semi-rimless frames.
You do you.
